Visit your dentist twice per calendar year

A dental visit twice per year is a vital part of a child’s oral health. Children’s teeth change so much with kids losing baby teeth and getting permanent teeth, that it is great to have everything looked at regularly. Tooth decay is still the most chronic childhood disease, and left untreated, it can impair a child’s ability to eat, speak, sleep and learn.

Maintain daily brushing and flossing habits

Please ensure that children brush their teeth twice per day for 2 minutes, floss daily, use a fluoride toothpaste, and use a soft bristle toothbrush. There are so many child-friendly products to help your child succeed!

Ensure good eating habits

By eating the recommended servings of fresh fruits and vegetables, children can decrease their risk of cavities. Increase their calcium consumption, and decrease sugar will help aide your child for not only a healthy life, but for great oral hygiene. Take charge of your child’s health and pack healthy well balanced lunches this school year.

Don’t forget after school snacks. Many children go straight to after school activities and their go to food is usually sugary foods and drinks from vending machines, which are are definitely not good for your overall oral health. Healthy foods also give your children the fuel that they require to excel in their extracurricular activities.
